James Stone Photographer – Vietnam – Resort
James Stone Photographer – Vietnam – Resort – It’s been a busy few weeks since my return from Vietnam (more on that later). Not only did I have a large number of images and video content to edit.
For this trip I used the really cool T-One EX Seriessystem.
I have spent the last few years shooting with another brand of studioand lithium battery pack and its been somewhat of a love hate relationship to say the least.
My studiohas blown the lithium battery inverter twice, the issue being that on both of those occasions I was on a shoot on location in Africa and Cambodia.
Having lugged all that gear halfway around the world to do a shoot and have it go pop before you get the shots you need is frustrating to say the least.
Anyhow, I have just spent two weeks shooting on assignment in Vietnam and the T-one EX worked a charm. Its lightweight and reliable and with the benefit of full digital controls, it’s a versatile little unit. Being a very small bare bulb flash, I was able to use it in a number of different ways, in fact I only travelled with a singlepole, a softbox and the flash unit (and battery).
Vietnam – Resort – The Lobby Shoot
My first set of shots was taken on assignment in the lobby of the resort in early evening. There was still a lot of ambientaround so I used two Lee ND filters to kill the ambient and popped a soft at reasonably close proximity to the subject. This photo is pretty much straight out of camera.
Here I am in the lobby shooting this:
